But your body isn’t broken. It just needs a chance to reset.
In a calm, relaxed state your nervous system shifts out of survival mode and becomes more open to change. We use that to retrain the gut brain loop, helping your system relearn steadiness rather than sensitivity.
This isn’t just theory. Gut directed hypnotherapy is backed by clinical research and recommended by the NHS for IBS, particularly where other approaches haven’t been effective.
Each session begins with gentle, structured talking therapy. This part helps you make sense of how your brain is responding to daily pressures and, why certain situations are triggering alarm signals in your nervous system. By engaging the intellectual brain the part that thinks clearly and logically, we begin to reduce the hold that the survival, reactive brain has over your gut.
Then, using Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, I guide you into a deeply relaxed state where your mind becomes more open to change. In that calm space, we begin to shift your gut brain response, helping your system learn to respond with steadiness instead of sensitivity.
Each session is focused on helping you move forward, not by forcing change, but by creating the conditions your brain and body need to restore balance, gently and naturally
Our work together is gentle, focused, and supportive. Each session is designed to help you feel safe, understood, and at ease because that’s what allows your nervous system to settle and start responding differently.
We work with how your brain is operating now, and start building the patterns that support long term change.

Gut-directed hypnotherapy for IBS is well established in the research. A 2024 review of the evidence found it has some of the strongest support of all brain-gut therapies, recommended by European and North American gastroenterology guidelines as a treatment option for IBS.
